fess up friday - sadie + stella

Today's Fess Up host needs no introduction. She is none other than the lovely Lindsay of Sadie + Stella. Lindsay is funny, fabulous and a fellow Missouri girl. What's not to love? And as you'll see she is an excellent Fess Up player. So Lindsay, what do you have to share?

I am Lindsay from Sadie + Stella and when Elizabeth asked me to fess up on one of my deepest darkest, I really had to think because I think of myself as an open book. So here it goes. Lots of people ask me what my secret is to keeping it young and I am here to clue you in. Ready for it? Botox and Taco Bell. Woah and woah. So even though I am rolling into my 30's I decided to jump on the preventative train and start with the injectables and I am proud to say that my forehead now looks like it is in middle school. No, seriously.

On to the diet. I mean I work really hard at it with meals that consist of 4 items from Taco Bell and I am proud to admit I am the girl that pushes $10 on every order. Folks. If you are not familiar with the prices at Taco Bell, that is an expensive meal, trust me when I say. I am talking nachos, chalupas and chili cheese burrito, people. I know I should be ashamed, but I am not. If processed food and injectables don't keep you fresh, I don't know what will. Preservatives my friends, preservatives.

Thanks to Elizabeth for graciously letting me air my dirty laundry and thanks to you all for reading my taxing and strenuous beauty tips. Hope you all will come and visit me over at Sadie + Stella! XOXO

All I can say is - who doesn't love a good taco?!

  2. Ah, now I know what my problem is. My organic face passed its expiration date. I totally want a taco right now.

  3. There is a Taco Bell in walking distance of me and I am known to make runs for the border often. There's not a thing on that menu I won't try! My friends are always astonished that a non-college aged, non-drunk person can eat there!

  4. Cheesy gordita crunch is one of my most secret guilty pleasures! And I will only get Taco Bell by myself so there is no risk of having to share :)

  7. This is really hilarious! I have to admit a fondness for Taco Bell bean burritos every once in a blue moon. Terrible, I know!

  10. Haha! I tried botox once and it was awful - I looked stern all the time (so not me) and my forehead sort of puffed out like Cro Magnon man. Not exactly the look I was going for. While the lady came recommended, I think she majorly cocked up my face. Since then, I've been VERY scared of anything like that. Now, the preservatives? I can get behind that one although I think for me, it's the alcohol rather than the Taco Bell. Either way, I'm liking your (honest & refreshing) style! ;) xxx

  12. Lol. Lindsay kills me. Good for her! I'm not a huge TB girl but I do indulge in other fast food which is so shameful in this day and age (all the healthy, clean, raw, vegan eaters on my Instagram would die). And I need to try Botox because my 40-year-old face could use a little refresh. :)

  15. MAN! I can appreciate Lindsay's honesty, but this confession from a pretty, smart, talented person makes me feel sick. I don't think that the normalization of Botox at age 30 does anyone any favors. We are all so obsessed with physical perfection, from expecting a woman to look perfect a week after her baby is born to, well, starting Botox treatments when we are 30. I'm not saying that I don't do my fair share of thinking about my appearance (I'm 31)--but shouldn't we be working towards a place where a person, and all who look at them, can say "My forehead reflects the amount of wisdom I have gained", which--hopefully--is beyond middle school? Incidentally, can you imagine saying to a room full of middle school girls-- "Well, this is the best it's ever going to get. You will spend a huge amount of your time, money, and thoughts on trying to maintain the forehead that you have right now." When I googled "Botox as a preventative measure" I found this quote by a Manhattan plastic surgeon:

"I get upset when Botox is promoted to someone like you. Of course I don't know you, but my advice would be: Forget Botox, don't look in the mirror too much, and enjoy your youth.

When you actually get lines or wrinkles that bother you, then Botox is a good thing"
