one room challenge - where are they now

Today is a fun 'this is your life' kind of day. My friend Linda, Calling it Home fame and creator of the One Room Challenge, is having a party today. Everyone and anyone who has participated in the One Room Challenge over the years will be giving updates on their rooms.

Projects that were unfinished, changes that were made, or just the general state of the room today will all be shared.

As for me, not much has changed in the girls' room by way of additions or changes.

Full disclosure it looks like this most of the time. True life. (my mom is horrified right now).

Herbie did get some new bright orange poppies which he is very happy about.

And I did get a pom pom garland on clearance after Christmas that I'll use as a tie back for the corner window. Current version styled by my three-year-old assistant.

So the girls still love the room, I still love the room. The room is well loved.

The family room is pretty much the same story.

All the major players are still in place, it just has a more...lived in patina now. I won't blind you with the general state of toy tornado that that room seems to be in. Even I have my sharing limits. :)

So that's my ORC update. All is pretty quite on the western front. Be sure to go over to Linda's to see what everyone else's rooms are up to now. I can't wait to check them out!

And don't forget to sign up for my Wash Away Winter giveaway! You could be smelling sweet in no time.

  3. Your little girls' room with the Springtime Bloom ceiling still has my heart. So adorable ESPECIALLY with the lived in patina! Just wait 'til those munchkins are 13. You will never see that floor again with all the outfit changes.

  4. I really love your girls' room. The mix is perfection.
My ORC room looks pristine when my son is not home to ransack it but the rest of the house...not so much.

  8. hahaha love the full disclosure and the pom pom tie backs. That's the state of my kiddos rooms too, but it would be SO MUCH WORSE if they shared! Every once in a while the mommy cleaning tornado blows though, but other than that unmade beds and toys on the floor is the norm.

  9. Good for you for keepin' it real! I kid you not, your playroom is still one of my absolute fave rooms to come out of blog land. It is the perfect, bright, colorful place to bringing out every single toy in the house to play with! Maybe that's why your girls do it!

  13. Thanks for the dose of reality in the kids' room. Mila's room is a disaster at the moment (and every moment) except when I'm going to photograph it. It looks like that for 15 minutes, then boom. Instant mess again.

  14. I don't remember your family room at all - I need to catch up on that one. And oh I can so relate to the girls room :) My little one isn't a mess yet but my oldest has books everywhere. I know it won't be long until it's clothes and accessories everywhere.

  20. You have to let them have a room to live in. My maid used to ask my daughter what she was looking for, lol. No one will ever know.
The rooms look great, which is no surprise!

  22. You are so funny- I love that you show real life! That's what my girl's rooms look like most of the time too! I do love this room you created for them and your basement! What color did you paint the ceiling? And did you use a flat paint? I'm curious since I think I'm ready to paint a ceiling for one of our girl's rooms too.
