Obviously I've got bathrooms on the brain as this is the
second time this week I've written about them. All those pretty pictures have inspired me to do a bit of a refresh on my loo.
Full disclosure, I've already painted. (I'll share that soon) But I want to do more. For those who might not have seen it before, or who don't remember, we are talking about a rather petite space - check it out
here - and it is our single solitary bathroom. That's right, go ahead and shed a tear for me.
So it will remain rather clean (in theory) and simple but I love the idea of giving a little pop with the shower curtain.
You can barely peek at that wonderful pink herringbone shower curtain, but you can see how it finishes the space. Its also the bathroom in one of my all time favorite houses btw.
So what do you think? Would you inject some color and (gasp) pattern into your shower curtain? Or do you like the classic crisp look of white? Are you a one curtain person, or a one curtain on each side kind of house?
i always love what you do- can't wait to see the paint color!
ReplyDeleteThat black and white one in the middle is killing me. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHermes orange is fun or that Black + White :) Happy Weekend! xo Kristin
ReplyDeleteI couldn't imagine you doing anything but color! You have a nice neutral shell do I say go for it! Something with saturated color and a bold pattern would be amazing in your small space. (I feel your pain BTW, we share a bathroom of equal size!)
ReplyDeleteI love the pop of pattern and color!
ReplyDeleteLove the Hermes bathroom. I'm sure that was an inexpensive room. Ha! I like a curtain on either side!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been neutral in the bath. I am changing my ways as well. I have the one curtain thing ... I am getting ready for the split!! Happy Friday! xo
ReplyDeleteYes, do it!
ReplyDeleteI love the double shower curtain idea you've featured in alot of these pics! Can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteMy shower/tub combo is in our guest bath. Because it is used very rarely, I have the ability to have drapery panels hung from the ceiling to the floor on both sides of the unit. When guests arrive I put up a tension rod with a plain, white washable shower curtain that I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond. Love that shower curtain! It's a waterproof cloth and has held up beautifully. After guests leave, I remove it, wash it in the machine and store it away. I also remove the rod, and I'm back to my rodless tub/shower!
ReplyDeleteI am a white curtain kind of gal but that polka dot bathroom is one of my all time favorites! It is scrumptious!!
ReplyDeleteI would totally do a little bit of color and pattern although I tend to drift toward the lighter/pastel colors for shower curtains.
ReplyDeleteI know that whatever you end up doing will be fantastic. That bath with the Hinson paper is one of my all time faves!
ReplyDeleteI have a totally plain shower curtain, but I love the inspiration you've posted!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bold type of girl, so the answer is yes! Love these!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the hermes inspired bathroom. Orange would be so fun.

Yes, I say go for color and pattern in an otherwise white bathroom. If you hate it, it's usually a cheap thing to replace. I've had a Crate & Barrel blue mosaic shower curtain for 5-6 years now, in two different bathrooms, and honestly still love it. I think when we move I will need to design a bathroom around it because I love the color and pattern so much.
ReplyDeleteI love em all esp the Bailey McCarthy and Tobi Fairley....what can I say? I have a thing for portraits and busts???!!!

what a great blank slate! I have a wide stripe curtain in my bathroom that I created myself- I sewed coral and brown together and I used indoor/outdoor fabric so that when I used bleach on the tub/shower, my curtain wouldn't get bleached. You can see here:

happy friday!
I love the idea of a bright, fun shower curtain! They're usually inexpensive so it's easy to change when you get tired of it, like I usually do... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas. Funny how sometimes shower curtains seem like an afterthought, but really they can make the room. Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThat JA bath is like an all time fave of mine!
ReplyDeleteWe have a brightly colored patterned fabric curtain we found at World Market. Love it!! We are also a 2 curtain house. A cheap clear curtain on the inside, pretty on the outside (we find our cheapies at Family Dollar, so easy to just throw away when it gets gross and get a new one!)
ReplyDeleteMy reasoning for 2: my family is forgetful about straightening the curtain after a shower. So, my nice one doesn't get wet from being inside the shower and my cheap one is the one that gets tossed.
Great roundup of bathrooms! Can't wait to see what you do!
ReplyDeleteThese are fun but I'm a white shower curtain, single curtain kinda gal. I currently have a textured white one and an embroidered bordered one. I have a powder room project on the brain I need to work on this weekend. Have a good weekend!xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteI like just one curtain but in my kids' bath we have a white curtain (think bleachable)and in our guest bath something more colorful. I worship those of you who are tidy enough to have only one bath.
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it I do like some color and pattern. Just got a new DKNY shower curtain in my bathroom from HomeGoods. Reminds me of a vintage Vera watercolor print. Good luck with the search!
ReplyDeleteYes, to color always. I think I prefer one curtain for showers and two for claw foot bathtubs.
ReplyDeleteYay to cool colourful shower curtains! Of course this coming from someone who is in the throes of remodeling her bathroom and going with something white but cute from Anthro. The pickings in the UK for cool shower curtains are pretty slim (it's more common to have a clear screen) but I'm always in awe of the big gorgeous curtains like you show in your inspiration pictures above. I love that your sole bathroom is tiny like mine too ;) xxx
ReplyDeleteoh shower curtains are everything to me...you totally need the gasp curtain!! These are all amazing images and I know I have at least have pinned!!
ReplyDeleteyes to color! of course :) I love them all, I'm sure whatever you do will be fabulous!
