furniture wish list - chesterfield sofa

I don't know about you, but I've got a long list of "someday I will have ___ piece of furniture." Classic pieces that I've wanted as long as I can remember and would be with me until I passed them on to the girls. True investment pieces.

And at the top of that list is for sure a chesterfield sofa. I often imagine finding an old one with fabulous worn leather while in a little antique shop on a fabulous vacation somewhere, while sipping ice tea and wearing a super cute dress and having a perfect hair day. Not to be too specific with my dreams or anything.  But in truth, I'm not picky. Bold color or neutral, leather, velvet, cotton or linen - they all look good.

What is your dream piece of furniture? Have you dreamed of finding just the right one, while wearing just the right thing? No one dreams like that but me? Probably.

  1. i too love a good chesterfield! i found one on craigslist a few years ago, and DIDN'T buy it, and I am still kicking myself today. I shared a round-up of my favorite modern interpretations of chesterfields on my blog last week too.

  2. I have been obsessed with finding a chesterfield sofa. And there are some lucky devils here in the blogoshepere who have actually found one on craigslist. Why can't I get that lucky?
Love all you Chesterfield inspiration photos…so dreamy!

  3. You're not alone dreaming of the perfect piece. I'm guilty of the same! I'd love to find a matching pair (I know, so difficult) of antique demilune tables....for the right price, of course. And maybe a giant-but-affordable persian rug in soft neutral colors with a touch of pink. I've put a lot of thought into this, can you tell?

  4. I totally dream of things that specific. At this point, I am rather satisfied with my furniture. Instead I dream of perfect flooring to replace a vast ocean of beige wall-to-wall.

  5. I've always loved these! I picture a leather one in a home office where I can take naps when I need a rest from work... maybe my dreams are a little specific too.

  6. The pale blue and the pale honey chesterfield were my favorites. But all of them look incredibly comfortable. I can understand why they are on your dream list!

  14. The chesterfield is on my list of top furniture pieces along with a beautiful four poster bed. I look at dreaming about furniture as really investigating what I will do with that extra money when I get it. I hope we both get one one day!
