I have used my excellent investigative skills to deduce a trend surge hitting the streets. And because of my excellent investigative skills, I'm making a proclamation.
2014 is going to be all about the arrow.
I know, a bold statement. But everywhere I turn, little arrows are popping up. Or shooting out as the case may be.
So what do you think? Do arrows make for a good accessory? Will you be participating in this trend? Do you realize how many puns ran thru my head while writing this post? It was a very Carrie Bradshaw moment.
I am surprised at how much I like this. OK, not all of them ;) but this is fun.
ReplyDeletelove that headboard and pretty much all the rest of it! just got some vintage arrows this weekend and was so excited to find them!
ReplyDeleteI love the simple pic by Emily Henderson with the colorful arrows on the mantel. I think this is a trend I could hop on board with!
ReplyDeleteInteresting observation. I never would have come up with this one. I feel drawn to the arrow pillow so I guess I could be on board.
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more and I'm already a huge fan. I feel more drawn to arrows that are brass/iron/copper or other luxe materials more than the wooden/colorful variety, but who knows! Either way, I definitely see them making their mark on the design world this year.
ReplyDeleteLove the cute Amanda Catherine print and the light fixture in the first photo is gorgeous. Other than that, not so sure about the whole arrow thing. You're super observant to have picked this up!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't noticed arrows in decor before, but now that you point it out I'm sure I'll be seeing them everywhere! I think they look interesting, definitely a versatile thing that could add a little touch of quirk to a space.
ReplyDeleteAlready there, sister. I've been obsessed with arrows and currently have a pair of arrow sconces hanging over my mantel. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI will certainly get behind this since my wedding suite this past fall also had arrows in it. And I gifted my bridesmaids tiny arrow earrings.
ReplyDeleteExtra cute in a kids room
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....you may be onto something! I just realized I am right on trend...I recently bought an arrow sweater from J. Crew and Santa (husband) gave me the silver arrow necklace from Tiffany for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteBeing a Pi Phi, I'm down with this trend!
ReplyDeleteThey're a little whimsical, a little woodsy - I'm a fan but I do not have any in our home. I love what Emily Henderson did with her display and that Kelly Wearstler space is redonk.
ReplyDeleteThat 1st image is gorgeous X10, I had to go back to see the "arrow" chandelier.

I'm 1,000% sure that the pair of glossy red arrow lamps were from Jenny Komenda's Tastemaker's Tag Sale, like, 3 years ago. I definitely committed them to memory because I would have died to find a pair when I'm out thrifting.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great trend and I'd love to see more of it, especially in gold side table form.
I do like it, but it's one of those things, like faux taxidermy, that can easily be overdone. Just shows you can make anything into an accessory with repetition! xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteSo true!! You nailed this trend! I have some some really cool sconces and even tables. There are some really cool wall decals out there too that I was considering for an entryway....but I was also considering doing a stencil....I love your entry way....was it pretty easy to do?
ReplyDeleteGreat finds! The necklaces with the colorful string are really cool. The other day I spotted some fun arrow art on Minted that's piqued my interest and may make its way onto our walls.
ReplyDeleteNew reader and I totally think your nailed what 2014 will be about -- as for decor don't see it happening much in my space, but of course i'll rock cute little arrow earnings or necklace :)
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting those Emily Henderson arrows in a vase since the first time I saw them.
ReplyDeleteI admit it, I'm all the way on board with this one. I've got a few arrows strategically placed in our house and little arrow necklaces keep calling my name too.

Good eye Elizabeth - I think you're on to something!!
ReplyDeleteThat first entry. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm seeing them everywhere now. Love these images. There could be worse trends! :)
ReplyDeleteSo funny that when I saw Emily Henderson's mantle with her arrows, I immediately went on an eBay hunt to look for some of my own. I'd forgotten about it (I don't think my search was terribly successful) but after this post, I'm thinking of resuming the search. It's a cute trend - I mean, not all over the house but one item is a little cute and unexpected :) xxx
ReplyDeleteTotally agree and I'm on board! I especially love them for kid's spaces!
ReplyDeleteThere's a fabulous table with legs shaped like arrows that my blog partner found- just gorgeous! I'm all for the arrow trend.

We might have to start stocking some arrow-themed fabrics, this is a good look I think!
