i want to hear from you

Ok people. It is put up or shut up time. I've been working on my home office for quite some time (you can read about it here, here, here and here) which is obvious by the number of 'here's. You know the drill - I start, life happens, and it gets pushed down the list. Then I start on it again and the vicious cycle continues. Blah blah blah.

Well since we are headed into Labor Day, I'm going to Labor on my office and get this sucka done. Get it, laboring on labor day for my labor space. Ha. Forgive me, I'm punchy on cold medicine.

So anyway, I've got my list and I'm ready to get started but I do have one thing that I need your help with.

I have a wonderful antique demilune table that I'm going to use in the space but I'm not liking it in its current, chipy white state. The dingy white against the crisp white walls make it look, well, dingy.

What color would YOU pick?

Keep in mind two things:
-  it has to be spray paint as I have no intention of loosing my mind by brush painting a wicker table. My children have already laid claim on the cause for my loosing my mind moment(s).
 - the top of the table is a beautiful stained wood that I plan to keep so that part won't be painted.

So with all of that in mind, what color would you pick? I'm wide open people (that's what she said). And you know me, I love color so I'm no afraid.

What say you?

  3. I say black! I think every room needs a hit of black. :) Can't wait to see this room come to life!

  4. I think it wants to be blue... a medium blue color, not pastel-y.

  5. I have two suggestions...totally agree with Katie about the black (matte) or maybe a muted shade of peacock/teal. You have great taste, so I can't wait to see what you do with it!

  8. Parrot Green. Something bright and luminous would look wonderful paired with the pink.

  9. Black. If everything is a different color, it could look like a child's room. Black and white are foundations in any room, and let the other colors shine.

  10. I like punchy Elizabeth :) What if you did crisp white up top and then just the base and legs gold?

  13. I would go with bright yellow or green so it would stand out from the walls and the pretty blue floor.

  14. High gloss parrot green! Your office should inspire you and be a happy place. So many other rooms we have to go with traditional furnishings. Spice it up, Mama!

  16. OK, I don't even really like green but something is telling me that a deep emerald would be fantastic. (not Kelly-ish green) I think your lamps will really stand out that way.

  22. I went to my paint store the other day and saw their sign - they make custom spray paint in any color in any finish you want. (they also do calk) Maybe you'll have a paint store in your area that can do that. I'd paint if Farrow & Ball Stone Blue - think it would be a nice blue w/your red desk.

  25. For no explicable reason, I am feeling a rich green for some reason. But then again, I can't remember all of the elements. Other than that, black.

  30. I vote black. I have an oval wicker table that came to me with its stained top. I, too, vowed not to paint it. I succumbed. It looks way better painted the same color.

  31. I'd do black. That way that gorgeous desk can remain the show stopper.

  35. Mint...I was too lazy to look at all the "here's" so not sure if that works with the direction you're going...can't wait to see how it all comes together!!

  36. not sure if this went through or not, but I love black wicker and feel that pretty much all rooms benefit from a shot of black. best, Laurel PS: I have to use my g+ account because I'm on wordpress and none of the so-called wp sign-ins work. Believe me, I've tried!
