two tone

I'm currently working with a great family on a kitchen remodel, which always makes me think about my own kitchen (I'm selfish that way). Lately I'm really loving the whole two tone cabinets cabinets combo.

Obviously Tommy and I are ment to be besties as he's done this in two kitchens. Move over Sarah!

So what do you think? Ever something you would consider?

  4. I love this look. I chickened out in my kitchen, but my friend did this and it looks fantastic.

  5. This is my ultimate favourite look in the kitchen. You can't go wrong! I like navy blue on the bottom, a little more daring but still a neutral.
Also, thank you so much for your kind words on my interview today! You are so sweet. Happy to have a blogging friend like you!

  10. I worked on a project where the client wanted two different wood tones in the kitchen and I was so tense about it the whole time but it wound up looking so nice as the kitchens do above. Really pretty glass tiles helped too. :)

I think I like the top photo above. Good luck with your project!

  11. I used to work as a kitchen designer and I loved it when clients would step out of the box and not be so matchy matchy! I love two toned... and even further a different color on the island!

  12. The navy/white combo has been my dream lately. I just don't know if I will bite the bullet and actually do it.

  13. I 100% agree, but I can't get my hubby on board yet with painting the wood..which I grow to despise more and more each day I look at beautiful kitchens!
    Have a great week Elizabeth.

  14. Long time, no see, Girl! Can't wait to catch up with you. Lovin' those two toned cabinets. I wanted to to do a dark navy when I painted my two-tones, but reason won out when I realized not every future renter would love navy cabs...

On to read you previous posts.

  15. Excellent post Ms. Elizabeth. You know what? Google/Blogger hasn't been showing me your current posts. I had to physically look you up and discovered I have been missing your posts --- errrrrrgh! So please forgive me.

I have debated about two tone cabinets in my kitchen redo for this fall. My husband has too much yard work this month and next to dink around in the kitchen until it is cooler weather. Perhaps by then I'll have my mind made up. I have gone from solid honey birch to all white to now perhaps dark black brown on the bottom with off white on the top. Mahn, I had better make up my mind ...but, this first pic here in your post is MARVELOUS!!! and ...that multi shaded chevron floor would make me so dizzy I would be barfing as I walked across it... just fyi. lol.

  17. I adore two toned cabinets and Tommy as well. I even had the chance to interview him for my blog series, So Canadian eh? And hoping to meet him this fall when he comes to Vancouver for our Interior Design show and our blogger event!

I sadly can only drool over kitchens like that as I am renting....
