I let out a grand gawfah! Thank you Elizabeth. My sinuses needed that! IM A STILL LAUGHING OUT LOUD. So nice to see you. I've missed you. Where have we been?
The first thing I do when the babes go down for naps and at bedtime is turn my whole house back into that first photo and the first thing they do when they wake up is turn it back into the second. Oh why do we bother! ha!
That's amazing. My kids have the exact same decorating style. Go figure. They do keep it real. Thank God my kids bedrooms are upstairs and mine is down. I don't have to see the daily destruction quite as frequently.
Ahhh, the memories of naked barbies, crayons, and playdough. Like my friend Grace once said..."That's the last time I step on that Happy Meal toy" as she threw it away! My motto, exactly.
My entire basement...hot wheels and "guys" are everywhere! I can't believe we haven't broken an ankle or hip from tripping on the overwhelming amount of crap!
is that the BEST!? {insert sarcasm here} it's murphy's law that just as I get everything into picture perfect organization, they take everything out to play with it! (how dare they, ha). Now, if we could just teach a 4 year old how to style a book shelf back they way they found it!!!! These photos are classic, thanks for sharing!
funny!!! The corner looks beautiful...but even with the mess the beauty is still there...and it being lived in and enjoyed! what good is it if you can't enjoy it....so actually I love that last photo...it means happiness is happening there!
yes, yes, yes!!! I've learned that when it comes to the kids, Nothing will ever be in placce for a long time! haha!love what you did with this cabinet - and again, you are so good with collages!!!! I like the green detail you put on the sides and the map behind! Super nice!
hahaha the "kids" picture made me laugh out loud!!! And yes I definitely do! The nice, organized playroom looks very similar to this!! Oh my gosh and how did I miss this project?!?! Mess or no mess I love it!!! I'm going to go check out your post about it on the Mustard Ceiling!
Haha, I love this! I swear one of the reasons I blog is so that I can look at pretty pictures of what my house could look like if we didn't actually live in it!
Good Lord, these photos sum up my life! Sometimes I walk into the boys room and it looks like someone actually came in the room in a rage and purposefully pulled everything off the shelves and threw it on the floor. It looks like there is no way it could have happened without incredible angry energy. When they are a bit older I'm going to walk in and yell "We've been robbed!"
Believe it or not, my cat actually pulls everything off the bottom shelf of my bookcase on a regular basis and will drag sweaters around if they haven't been put away properly {only the pure wool expensive ones, obviously}. She also puts iPod cords in her food and water bowl when I'm not around. Kids messes like that would be an improvement.
Hahaha! I love it! Well we do all have to live in our homes, right? I don't even have kids and there are days when I think, 'dear god, if my readers could see me now'. Keep on keeping it real ;) xxx
The pretty pictures reflect mommy playing house. The thrashed styling is real life.
ReplyDeleteThis too shall pass. Give yourself another 20 years and it will all be fine. ;)

Well the corner re-do looks great. Love all the art you hung on the walls. The last pic just looks like life to me!
