monday distractions

I don't know about you, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting in gear today. So, I thought I would do what any responsible person would do in this situation - encourage others to procrastinate with me.

If you have some spare time today, or have a long list of things you don't want to tackle, here are three good reads. And really, reading is exercise for your brain and exercise is very important to your health. So this is actually rather important for you in order to lead a long and healthy life.

First up, the new (hand over your heart) domino. Have you read it yet?

My old friend Domino and I met for a date on the porch this weekend and we had a grand time. I love the Style Council layout, which gave a completely fresh view to photos we've all seen before. It goes without saying but I'll type it anyway, how I wish this was still a monthly publication!!

Then we've got the new issue of Ivy and Piper. Always a good read full of delicious pictures.
This amazing house tour is right up my color obsessed alley.

And don't forget House of Fifty. Several great articles, a feature on local (to me) genius Amie Corley and jewelry I am putting on my Christmas list.

Exercise regime for today complete. You're welcome.

How do you get thru a particularly slow Monday? Any other good magazines this month I shouldn't miss? Does anyone else get a contact high from Brasso?

  1. I can't seem to find Domino on newsstands here! I might have to find a chapters.

  2. I love this post! Such inspiring rooms! My Monday is too busy! I have promised myself only a few minutes on the computer...

  3. Oh...If I start with those, I will get nothing done. I have a rug to paint...don't you? Tonight, when I am listening to the RHONY I'll browse. Thanks for the links.

  4. Hey is Domino in print? How did you get it? Email me!

  5. What is the RHONY? Thanks for the heads up on Lonny. I LOVE the Australian design mags. They're so fearless with color/pattern and HAPPY!

  6. I love this post! These rooms are gorgeous! I really need to check out the new issue of Ivy and Piper.

  7. Yup, read all 3! I love the domino style council layout too.

Still painting the campaign and the rug!

  8. I am going thru Domino little by little, trying to savor everything in it. Busy, busy with our library/office, can't wait to show you guys. Hey, I posted your pic already on my wall collage post, check it out when you have the time. Thanks again!

  9. loved house of fifty. i wanted to devour that room! havent gotten to dominoe yet b/c i wanted to savor it...but love the glimpse of it!

@Jennifer |Pink Pagoda---RHONY = Real Housewives of New York!!!! Another guilty pleasure!!!!

  10. oh my gosh - you're speaking to me. not only was i not able to get it in gear yesterday, nor am i able to get it in gear TODAY. i could thumb thru pages of mags or watch all the RHo... all day. Except for maybe Miami. I'm REALLY kinda thinking they are the WORST so far

  11. I have yet to grab an issue but my fiend told me she saw it at Target. So I will be heading there this weekend!

  12. I think this is a perfectly good way to spend a day! Hey, it's RESEARCH right?? It's like, educational since we write decorating blogs. Right?? That's how I justify it anyways!! haha. Oh my gosh the House of Fifty house is amazing!! That room is so eclectic and colorful yet still manages to look completely pulled together. that's when you know you've got skills!

  13. Oh man I am so jealous you can get Domino in the States. I have however, comforted myself by just spending the last who-knows-how-long-time-has-no-meaning absorbing Ivy & Piper! Yay for 'research'! xxx

I love it when you sweet talk me! It makes my day!
And please make sure you leave an email address so we can keep the convo going.
