I don't know about you but I feel we all need an Olympic medal for making it to the end of this week! But Friday is finally here and I've got goodies galore. First up, you can catch me over at Primitive & Proper taking part in Cassie's fun It's Eclectic series. Check it out here.
And also, what would a Friday be without a good Fess Up?! Today we've got one of my very favorite ladies, store and blog all rolled up into one - Jennifer from The Pink Pagoda. I'm lucky enough to have some of Jennifer's wonderful prints in my living room and I covet just about every single blue and white item she has in her shop. And on top of all of that style and talent, she is genuinely one of the nicest people I have (virtually) met.
So Jennifer, Fess Up!
TV at TPP
My family room pre-ORC. Still looks somewhat the same, just different reflections in the TV and messier book stacks.
I adore Elizabeth's "Fess Up Friday" series. What fun to read about everyone's idiosyncrasies! Today, I'm confiding four things about TV at my house.
Before I begin the confessional, I'll say that since both Elizabeth and I have design blogs, I thought I'd include some photos that illustrate the tricky TV being handled well.
Lonny
First, I admit that I love TV. I used to be kind of snobby about it and thought people should read instead of watching television (former English teacher of 10 years). My, how things have changed.

As my 16 year old daughter has lots of extra-curricular activities that keep her busy, plus ridiculous amounts of homework, we aren't watching much TV as a family.
OKL
But, when we are watching, my daughter is heavily influencing the choices.
AD
Which leads me to the second thing I'm sharing about TV at my house.
HB
I did mention that my daughter's 16, right? As a result, aesthetics are influencing our viewing.
That means we're watching Downton Abbey, Arrested Development, Castle, Sherlock, Jimmy Fallon, Idol, Parks and Rec, and White Collar with her.
The third thing that might surprise you is that I do not care for Chick TV.
And, that's happy for my husband. He doesn't have to watch The Bachelorette and I don't have to watch sports. Very conveniently, we like the same TV. Homeland, House of Cards, and Boardwalk Empire are some of our favorites.
Lastly, I'll admit that I partake in binge TV. Sometimes, an episode is so good that you just HAVE to watch the next one. And then the next one, too. Yikes. DVDs, Netflix and DVRs make binge watching just too easy. Some of the shows that are too addicting to stop after one episode are Damages, Dexter, Six Feet Under, The Killing, 30 Rock, and I could go on unfortunately.
Whew. I feel much better after the "Fess Up." Thanks for having me, Elizabeth! Hopefully some of your readers can relate : )
I can totally relate! Especially since I'm counting down the days until the new House of Cards season starts next week! Thanks Jennifer for playing along today.
And one last bit of great news - Jennifer is up for best Design Blog Graphics and Presentation award in the Design Bloggers Conference Hall of Fame! Not too shabby! Please take a minute to click here and cast your vote. I know I've voted and I would love to see her win!!
Happy Weekend all!
This was fun. I am a television-aholic! I will be watching House of Cards on 2/14 and probably finish it before the following Monday. No Chick Flicks? Darn, I love those.
ReplyDeleteOMG that was so funny Jennifer! I don't watch much TV either....(My husband watches zero except for some occasional CSpan). I adore Downton, The Good Wife and then movies in the weekends. But I adore chick flicks.....but in movies not necessarily tv shows. happy weekend Elizabeth and Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteAhh good old TV. I love your book stacks under your TV! I just put a gallery wall around my television and am liking the look. I love girly tv, and trashy reality tv. Don't watch as much as I used to though!
ReplyDeleteI am a binge watcher too. After a long day with kids it's a great mindless activity!
ReplyDeleteLove your fess up Friday posts! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteSo fun to know this about you Jennifer! There is no TV in our household during weekdays, a rule my kids have learned to live with (except during the olympics). And me and my hubs binge watch like you do on weekends, and can't wait for "House of Cards" for this Valentines -what a date night right?!!!
ReplyDeleteawesome jennifer! tv is one of those things i struggle with. i like it, actually love it. but dont have alot of time for it and tend to get snobby about it. but im not too good for a kardashian round up or some trash tv either. so id say we're all guilty! but man some of those pics with tv's well styled are FANTASTIC!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a binge watcher (except for when Linda got me hooked on Scandal), but listening to another's fess ups always makes me feel better. We have only one television (I know, the dark ages). I watch sports with my husband, but I draw the line at C-SPAN (one of his faves). I'd rather give myself brain surgery.
ReplyDeleteP.S.Let's face it: I say Jennifer's daughter has inherited her mother's good design sense!
I love all these prints! Great post :)

I'm so with this and this is coming from a Netflix addict. Dexter, The Killing, Down Town Abbey and yup the walking dead ;)
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you how happy this makes me? We don't have a single mantel that I can style without a tv. We are tv watchers. Through and Through. It's all rather irritating, but we cannot help ourselves!! xo
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love this. I too, enjoy some binge tv, when I get the chance. The Following is one of my faves now :)
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about our tv in our formal living room all weekend so I love this post very much!
ReplyDeleteHouse of Cards!!! I can't wait. I'm not a huge reality tv fan at all, but I do like a lot of the HBO, Netflix, AMC series. And we're marathon watchers over here as well. Damn you tv! I just can't quit you!
ReplyDeleteI'm addicted to TV! I like Downton, but I have to admit I love some trashy tv on Bravo! :)
ReplyDeleteI do love me some good TV.....In fact I have been depressed since we finished The Killing....
